Wentling Announces Mercer County to Receive Strategic Management Planning Program Grant

HARRISBURG – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) today announced that Mercer County has received a $93,750 grant from the Department of Community and Economic Development Strategic Management Planning Program (STMP).

“This funding will help Mercer County develop a plan to support the county finances and set up a strong fiscal plan moving forward,” said Wentling.

Specifically, this funding will be used to hire a consultant for Mercer County to help develop a five-year financial and operational plan to strengthen its financial capacity and stabilize its tax base.

The STMP provides matching grant funds of up to $200,000 to help local governments experiencing financial issues develop comprehensive, multi-year financial strategies and establish short- and long-term fiscal goals.
