Wentling Announces Grant for Mercer County
March 11, 2025
HARRISBURG – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) today announced that Mercer County has received an $18,092 grant from the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) through its Municipal Waste Household Waste (HHW) Education program.
“This funding will allow Mercer County to advertise crucial household waste collection events that help protect our environment,” said Wentling.
This funding will be used by the county to advertise registered HHW collection events from 2024-25.
The Household Waste (HHW) Education program is part of DEP’s Recycling Finance Assistance Program. These programs are financed by a $2-per-ton recycling fee on all waste (except ash) disposed of in landfills or processed by resource recovery facilities in Pennsylvania.
