Lt. Gen. John L. ‘Jack’ Hudson to Attend Wentling’s Veterans Recognition Breakfast as Guest of Honor

HARRISBURG – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) announced today that Lt. Gen. John L. “Jack” Hudson will attend his Veterans Recognition Breakfast as the guest of honor. The event will take place this Friday, Nov. 7, from 9-11 a.m. at the Hickory VFW, located at 5550 E. State St. in Hermitage.

A 1973 graduate of the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Hudson has had a distinguished career in the Air Force. Currently commander of the Aeronautical Systems Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, located in Ohio, the general has served on the Air Staff and as the director of several Air Force and joint system program offices; as the senior military assistant to the Under Secretary for Defense for Acquisition and Technology; and as Program Executive Officer and Program Director, Joint Strike Fighter Program, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition. Prior to his current position, he was Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force for International Affairs.

“I’m truly honored Lt. Gen. Hudson agreed to take time out of his incredibly busy schedule to attend my Veterans Recognition Breakfast,” Wentling said. “Lt. Gen. Hudson has had a long and distinguished career serving the United States in the Air Force. A trained command pilot that has spent more than 3,500 flying hours in the air, Lt. Gen. Hudson has been recognized as one of our very best. It is amazing that he is taking the time out of his busy life to speak to the Veterans of the 7th Legislative District. ”

Hudson’s awards and decorations include the Defense Distinguished Service Medal with oak leaf cluster, the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal, the Navy Distinguished Service Medal, the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit award, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal with oak leaf cluster, the Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters and the Air Force Commendation Medal.

Wentling’s Veterans Recognition Breakfast will also feature representatives from state and local veterans’ organizations. The event is open to all Mercer County veterans and one guest.
