Brooks, Wentling Congratulate Nico Nicklin on Being the Cover Artist for the 2026 Pennsylvania Attorney General Drug-Free Calendar

January 7, 2026

HARRISBURG – Sen. Michele Brooks (R-Crawford/Mercer/Lawrence) and Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) want to congratulate area student Nico Nicklin, a fifth grader from Greenville Elementary School, for being one of 13 students out of over 2,000 applicants selected to have their art shown in the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s 2026 Drug-Free calendar.

Nico’s art was selected to be the cover of this year’s calendar, which also came with a prize of $529.

“Congratulations Nico, for not only this great achievement honoring your artistic talents, but also for your caring nature. Your colorful drawing of green hillsides and a growing garden is a perfect illustration of the artwork’s title: “Be drug-free and as healthy as you can be!,” said Brooks. “We cannot overstate how important this message is, especially to our young people. It’s never too early to raise awareness about the danger of drugs, or the important benefits of maintaining healthy lifestyle habits starting from a young age.”

“I want to congratulate Nico on this incredible recognition for being chosen as the cover artist for this year’s calendar,” said Wentling. “Nico, your art will help students across Pennsylvania make the right choice when it comes to substance abuse and you fully deserve this honor of having your artwork showcased across our Commonwealth. As a former student of Greenville Elementary, where generations of my family have attended, it’s an honor to the school and its staff to see you succeed.”

The 2026 version is the 29th anniversary of the Office of Attorney General’s Drug-Free Calendar Contest. Students from across Pennsylvania submit calendar designs in recognition of National Substance Use Prevention Month. Thirteen winners are selected from the pool of entries.
