August 20, 2026

GREENVILLE – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) today announced the Farrell Area School District has been awarded a $140,000 PAsmart grant to expand students’ access to career and technical education opportunities.

“As a former industrial arts and technology education teacher, I know this grant will provide students with in-demand skills for a great career,” said Wentling. “It is a win for our kids and local employers.”

The funding, awarded through the Pennsylvania Department of Education, will support high-quality career pathways in fields such as advanced manufacturing, construction, digital technology and energy. The grant is part of a statewide initiative designed to help students acquire the skills, credentials and practical experience needed to pursue careers in growing industries.

Farrell Area School District is one of 17 organizations selected to receive funding through the latest round of PAsmart career and technical education grants.

The Pennsylvania Department of Education awarded approximately $3.5 million through this round of PAsmart grants.
